Teen and Family Systems Therapy

I bring over six years of community mental health and school social work experience to my clinical work with adolescents and families. The therapy relationship is at the heart of my work with teens. My style is engaging, playful, direct, and compassionate. My work with adolescents focuses on identity and values development, sexuality and gender identity exploration, self-compassion, navigating the often complex relationship with their bodies, and managing the day to day social and academic environment of school. I work especially well with adolescents who are queer, neurodivergent and/or have an experience of feeling lonely, different or like their emotions are “too big.” I also have experience working with adolescents who are navigating experiences of bullying, oppression and complex trauma.

I conduct family therapy sessions to help bring to light the “dance,” that occurs in the communication and emotional dynamics between family members and to shift pre-existing relationship patterns into more generative ones with the goal of supporting all family members to feel more connected and understood. Additionally, I have extensive experience navigating school systems and supporting folks with the process of advocating for a 504 plan or Independent Educational Plan. Together let’s move in the direction of healing, self-acceptance, and empowerment!
